Description
A collection of photographs, furniture, documents, hand and farm tools and miscellaneous artifacts which interpret the cultural past of the Sackville-Beaverbank area. Includes a unique collection of photographs and memorabilia relating to harness racing and Sackville Downs. The collection is housed in the Fultz House, c.1865, at the historic corner of the two 'Great Roads' of early Nova Scotia and the Cobequid and Windsor Roads. On the site is the Grace Cooperage building, c.1900, which houses the Museum's collection of wagons and a replica stage coach. A Blacksmith Shop c.1800, built in the mortise-and-tenon style, has a working forge. Enjoy the spacious lawns which surround the house, and several acres of natural woodland. Parking on Memory Lane via Cobequid Road. Guided tours daily during the summer; by appointment at other times. Grounds are suitable for wedding ceremonies and any photographic session (fees may apply). Meetings Third Thursday of each month at the Fultz House Museum at 7:30pm
