You can get to Nova Scotia several ways including by plane, train (VIA Rail) or by car.  However, cruising has become a popular way for tourists to discover what Nova Scotia has to offer.

Halifax is a unique port as it gives passengers many tour options (Halifax City Tours, Peggy' Cove, Lunenburg, Annapolis Valley Winery Tours and many more to choose from).  Each ship is greeted with Bagpipes and Drums by the 78th Highlanders.  The most popular time to cruise to Nova Scotia seems to be in September ...

Peggys Cove, one of the top "must see" sights for any tourist visiting Nova Scotia.

Less than 50 kilometers from Halifax it makes for a beautiful day trip, and for me even the drive there along the coast of St. Margarets Bay is truely beautiful.

That coast has to be on of the most desirable places to live in Canada, and the size of some of the homes reflects that. The coast is tree lined and dotted with stunning inlets and bays.

The lighthouse at Peggys Cove is located on a granite out crop called Peggys Point and is still in active use today. You can find some great information including the history of the cove on wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org ...

So today we visited Shubie Park, in Dartmouth. Truely a beautiful spot at all times of year, now as spring starts it is really coming to life.

With the sun shinning we walked the longest of the trails, and a host of other people were also out enjoying what the park has to offer including Bikers, Parents with Children, Dog Walkers and Runners...

Shubie Park, is an easy way to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, parks in Nova Scotia are all very well maintained and have alot to offer those taking a peaceful stroll, looking for a safe place to excercise or even let their best friend run free.

Dont forget to visit Shubie Park this spring..... ...

Ok so there is not really a party, but its here our latest updates included the addition of a blog to ScotiaPages.com.

Its been a busy few weeks here in Halifax, the Canada Winter Games have certainly added a huge amount of excitement and entertainment to Nova Scotia.

To be honest I am not a huge fan of winter sports so for me the best bits have been the entertainment, the concerts. The selection of bands has been great and showcased alot of local talent.

A great job to all who have organized the games, and here is to having more events of this calibre in Nova Scotia.
